The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) requires certain employers to provide former employees and dependents who lose group health benefits with an opportunity to continue group health insurance coverage for a limited period of time. COBRA is a complex set of laws and regulations with many traps for the unwary, and COBRA mistakes can be costly. Attorney Stephanie Grant will identify common COBRA compliance issues and will provide practical guidance for preventing common errors that could result in significant liability. COBRA mistakes have led to lawsuit payouts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars!
Stephanie will present for 60 minutes regarding the above topic. We devote the remainder of the time to Q&A and information regarding BASIC COBRA Administration. BASIC’s webinar is approved for 1.0 HRCI and 1.0 SHRM-CP advanced credits for HR professionals worldwide. Credits are for live attendance only.
